Hello,

I did install Xubuntu 12.10 on such a laptop running Windows 8.

I first disabled Secure Boot, then instructed the installer to wipe out Windows 8 altogether and install Xubuntu. It is two months ago now and it is running fine, even the "touch scree", which I don't use, works!!!
