Sorry, by "upgrades" I meant system updates that pop up automatically 
from update-manager, not stuff added manually. I haven't added or 
updated anything manually for many months, but there were 2-3 updates 
from update-manager in the last week or so.

In any case, I don't see anything in the Synaptic menus that will report 
on recent package updates. I think there was a "report" option in an 
earlier version, but apparently not now.
