[xubuntu-users] Session and Startup

I have noticed under Settings --> Settings Manager --> Session and 
Startup --> Advanced that there is a choice under Compatibility to 
select Launch Gnome services on startup or Launch KDE services on startup.

Presumably I can choose either one, both or neither. Are there any 
advantages to this? And what difference does it make which choice is made?
