Why would you need to install every 6 months?  XFCE is unlike some desktops in that the changes are relatively small.  What is it about 4.08 that is so deficient that one would need to upgrade?

Sorry to be so strident about it, but you've hit one of my pet peeves.  I think Linux users are too used to upgrading to the newest and shiniest-as opposed to Windows XP users, who have only recent become the minority of Windows users.

So, we get idiotic reviews that focus not on whether something is functional and user-friendly, nor on performance, but on what new features are provided, and we get people feeling the need to upgrade regularly.
