[xubuntu-users] Slow directory opening,

Thank you, to all who had suggestions. I am using Nautilus most of the
time, but the advice to change the /usr/share/gvfs/mounts/networkmount
file by editing automount to 'automount=false' was a solution that
preserves Thunar.
This was especially helpful:
