Hello Joshua.

Thank you for your reply and instructions, which I tried to follow as 
best as I could.

Unfortunately, things were worse.

Up came the 'Input Signal Out of Range' message for 30 seconds, but as 
soon as it disappeared, the computer shut down. So I was obviously doing 
something wrong.

I have reinstalled Xubuntu using WUBI, but without Xorg.conf. When I get 
a chance, I'll have another go with the modification.
