Oh yea, I agree, Xubuntu is really nice, I like it better too. But FYI:
If you have Ubuntu [and want Xfce], all you have to do is install
xubuntu-desktop and then you have the option of switching between Gnome and
Xfce, or you can just ditch Gnome or Unity for Xfce. (Xfce4 is really nice
and very efficient.)
One single command:
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
will install the Xubuntu desktop system.
