[xubuntu-users] Screen tearing in XFCE using official nVidia drivers

Hi all,

Wondered if someone might be able to shed some light on an issue I'm having.

In XFCE, I'm experiencing horizontal screen tearing when moving windows
round, watching videos with VLC, playing fullscreen games and other
situations where there's a lot of screen movement.

I'm using the official nVidia drivers and also have TwinView enabled so I
can use two screens.

Both screens report that they're operating at 60hz, which is fine since
I've forced that through the xorg.conf file, but I've read in places that
there might be some suggestion that Xorg is operating on the monitors at
50hz, perhaps explaining the screen tearing.

Does anyone have any advice/suggestions on how to begin troubleshooting
this issue, or perhaps if it's been resolved before?
