Subject: [xubuntu-users] thunar: several usb devices don't open automatically
Hello everyone!
I'm using Xubuntu 4.10 and noticed that while Thunar automounts and opens most of my usb sticks -when plugged in
For some usb sticks and external devices, it doesn't.
They just show up on the desktop and places menu as unmounted faded out icons and I have to click on them to mount and open.
For example, thunar doesn't automount an ext4 external hard drive, while the same drive gets automounted by nautilus in Ubuntu.
So here's my favorite question ever: why is it doing that?
Should I look into some odd configuration in my system?
My system is xubuntu 12.10, I upgraded from ubuntu 12.04 by installing over it with the 64bit cd.
I'm using gala --replace to manage the windows in my session.
Thunar is set to handle devices, automount and open them -through the xfce-settings.
Thunar does actually handle some fat32 usb sticks/external drives correctly.
BUT it fails to do so with some other fat32 usb sticks and ext4 hard drives I tried.
Thank you for your time. Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated.
bests,
Thomas
