Since Xubuntu 10.10 is no longer supported, no security updates will be
issued for it. As time passes, you will not be able to install updates
to the applications in use. Further, the more time that passes, the
less chance you will ever be able to change the OS without a new
install. At the time you decide to do a new install, you will probably
have to completely re-format the hard drive, since none of the old, no
longer supported releases of your applications will be upgradable.

If you do not wish to upgrade at 18 months, please use the Xubuntu LTS
releases. 10.04 is supported for 1 more year, and 12.04, which is due
to release on April 26, is supported for three years.

This is not the Ubuntu mailing list. Unity is not used by Xubuntu.
