[xubuntu-users] 11.10 does not ask for password when updating with update manager

Yep, it's the same here! Being asked directly before something is installed would be nice!

This affects me too.  Since I upgraded and the update manager is now an indicator app, it asks me for me password if I choose "Sow updates" then try to update, but not if I choose "Install updates" - it just installs them without needing the password.  Not sure why.


Any ideas, anyone?
