[xubuntu-users] Problems moving to 11.04 due to the 'ghost of Unity'

I have hit a second problem when upgrading to xubuntu 11.04 from 10.10.

First problem was firefox's missing menu bar which I got back by
disabling the "Global Menu Bar Integration" add-on.

However I now have another problem, virtualbox has lost its menu bar
too, does anyone know how to get it back?

More generally it seems as if xubuntu is suffering because of ubuntu
settings not being compatible with it.
