In my mind "focus on performance" and "low memory footprint" are exactly th=
e
mission of Xubuntu... and therefore SLIM should be used instead of GDM.
I have used SLIM on a fluxbox machine before and never had any issues with
it. I think it should be considered for GDM replacement.
