[xubuntu-users] Sound Problem: Is PulseAudio the Culprit?

To expand on my last message.  The sounds was working, but it was very 
muffled and almost unlistenable (nice word eh).  Something in one of the 
driver controls was preventing the sound to come through clear. 
Following my steps forced the sound drivers to use only was was 
necessary to allow the sound to come through clear.

Perhaps it will work for you as well.
