Nope. The orinoco driver has worked in the past with this card. The Lucent
Orinoco Gold has been well supported by linux for years; I think it was in
2004 that I bought this card for use on an IBM ThinkPad 600E running
Slackware, and it just worked. However, when I looked in
/lib/modules/2.6.28-15-generic/kernel/drivers/ I find no directory for
wireless.

What's that? Is it a menu option somewhere? I use lsmod to learn what
drivers are loaded and insmod/modprobe to load new ones.

I, too, hope it's something simple as I want to get this machine off my
desk and back to my wife so I can focus on my work.

Thanks,
