[xubuntu-users] Best way to set up practice LAMP in Xubuntu ?

Hi,

I want to set up a practice AMP in Xubuntu. In XP I just install Xampplite in one swoop. But I see a lot of conflicting opinions for Linux. Many people say only to install AMP components separately via Synaptic so all dependencies and "techie" stuff are properly taken care of by Synaptic vs. using Xampp. That approach seems good. But I do like the Xampp control panel. What's best way? Links appreciated too. Thanks, Lee G.
