[xubuntu-users] Default Screen Resolution & Refresh Frequency

I consider this idea to be foolish, sorry for lack of a better word.

At most a boot cd of ubuntu or knoppix that displays correctly (for 
you), would do the same, but save you installing an ancient version just 
for the single task of getting the resolution/refresh you want. ;-))
