[xubuntu-users] No sound whatsoever

Hello,

I have an ongoing issue that hopefully someone can assist me with. I have
Xubuntu 8.10 installed and everything seems to be working wonderfully ...
except no sound at all. I do know that it recognizes my audio card
correctly but still despite looking further into this I can't get any
sound. I also do know that when I had Ubuntu 8.10 installed, with a few
adjustments, I could get sound and everything was fine. That seems to
indicate maybe a missing driver or application or something that I am
missing. I'm currently at work so I'm not 100% sure what the name of the
audio card (I believe Ensoniq something or other). If anyone has any good
advice or could point me in the right direction I certainly would
appreciate that. Thank you kindly.
