Michele,

The Solaris grub implementation should be pretty much the same as grub v1,
just modified to read zfs. I would look over the following sun articles.
The first one does have an example of multibooting linux and utilizing
solaris' menu.lst and not chainloading while the second link talks about
actually locating the solaris menu.lst:

http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/articles/grub_boot_solaris.jsp

http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-5505/6mkv5m1k1?a=view

Another good resource for manually editing the grub config file is here:

http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Grub#Manual_configuration

As far as xubu, I would probably go into the package manager and remove
any grub/bootloader software.

Keep us posted on your progress!

I would really like you to be on my side,
but the side you show me isn't what I had in mind.
