[xubuntu-users] Why would removing samba-commone remove xubuntu-desktop

Just let it get removed, it's only a metapackage.

It boils down to the fact that Xubuntu includes samba and 
"xubuntu-desktop" is the package which controls everything Xubuntu includes.
