Thanks for hanging with us and giving this a try.  To install the real
media player, I recommend following the instructions listed on the
medibuntu repository "how-to" page.

Although medibuntu is not an official Ubuntu project, the packages for
Medibuntu are maintained by a person who does _a_lot_ of packaging for
Ubuntu, so they are as good as you are going to find anywhere.

Once you have installed the repository, enter "sudo apt-get install
realplayer" (without the quotes) into a terminal window.  You'll be
prompted for your password, and you may be asked if you want to
install any additional dependencies.  If so, indicate that this is ok.
This should work for you.

The instructions on the page I linked to may be a little daunting at
first, but just read the instructions, and step through them . . .
they should get you where you need to go. :)  Best of luck, and let us
know if you have any problems.
