[xubuntu-users] Could not find internet address

Hello,

I managed to install Xubuntu 8.04 onto a laptop (Compaq M700, PIII 650
MHz, 576 MB RAM). However, no connection to the internet has been
established. A message appears:

Could not look up internet address for daan-laptop. This will prevent
Xfce from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the
problem by adding daan-laptop to the file /etc/hosts on your system.

Although I understand the message I do not know how to correct this.

Can anybody help me? Thank you very much in advance. regards, Daan
