[xubuntu-users] delayed printing from Firefox

Hi again,

I have installed Gutsy 7.10 and the drivers you've pointed me to.  To 
satisfy dependencies, I had to install two packages, libcupsys2-gnutls10 and 
libpng10-0.  They don't seem to be available in Xubuntu repositories: 
Synaptic didn't find them.  However, I found both in the Debian 
repositories:  http://packages.debian.org/etch/libcupsys2-gnutls10 and
http://packages.debian.org/oldstable/libs/libpng10-0

The printer works fine now.  Thanks a lot!

Hi Yury,

This does sound like a problem. The issue is most likely the driver you are
using. Did you manually select the driver? Did you install your own driver?

Hi,

I have recently installed the current Xubuntu, Feisty Fawn, on my laptop, HP 
Omnibook XE3 GC.  I have a printer, Canon PIXMA iP1500.  My problem is that 
printing is often delayed, particularly when I try to print from Firefox.  I 
see a message saying that it's preparing the job for printing for a few 
seconds, and then nothing happens.  A page might print several minutes 
later, or even much later, after the computer has been rebooted or booted 
into Windows.  Any suggestions?
