Lexmark is... variable with Linux. Some printers seem to work right out of
the box, while others don't work at all. According to the OpenPrinting
database, the 2400 isn't too bad (at least not nearly as bad as my C500n) at
"Mostly works". They also have a small install walkthrough, which was
designed for Dapper, but "*should* work on all versions":
