[xubuntu-users] dead USB

Hello,
yesterday i updated my Xubuntu 7.04 pc through the Update Manager.
I found out in the morning that all the devices (ADSL Modem and Printer) 
that are connected to my computer via USB are not working. Probably the 
USB is dead. Do you think that the updates caused the problem? Any other 
ideas?

PS:lsusb and lshw commands don't produce any output.
