No you aren't missing anything at all, but if in the event there is a bug
somewhere in the code for the Xfce Beta that might only be run in some
obscure situation (such as booting from suspend) it could in theory be the
problem. But I do agree that it is more likely an ACPI or APM issue which I
wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to fix and/or might not even be
fixable at this point in time.
