[xubuntu-users] Removal of Thunderbird and Firefox

Actually...that is not entirely accurate....
auto remove looks for packages that are no longer required.....
removing xubuntu-desktop and running apt-get autoremove never wiped out my system. it only asks to remove xubuntu-docs

  ...unless you installed it with Aptitude, or you decide to run apt-get autoremove. Then it will remove all of the packages that are dependancies of xubuntu-desktop. This includes everything from Mousepad to xserver-xorg.

    xubuntu-desktop is just a 'grouping' packet, it does not contain
    anything by itself. uninstalling it doesn't pose a problem.
