KDE is more popular than XFCE general so Kubuntu being more popular than 
Xubuntu is not sup rising.

I have both Kubuntu and Xubuntu installed, but I use Kubuntu largely because I 
love some KDE apps (Kmail, Konqueror, Amarok and Kate). In addition it has 
good panel applests, Kasbar and Kompose. I do prefer the Ubuntu config tools.

I did try running the KDE apps in XFCE, but I has staility problems, as well 
as some other issues with Dapper. I have not tried it properly with Edgy and 
I will probably leave my next try till after I upgrade to Feisty.

I did like XFCE and I do want to try it again.
