Thunderbird has built in IRC support that I've found to be very

Oops, I tried again changing the url for freenode to the url
for <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://irc.ubuntu.com/8001">irc.ubuntu.com/8001</a>
that xchat is set to and that worked, apparently my proxy
blocks any other port conections I guess.​</div>
