Instead of yanking a tool which seems to work well for some folks
but not for others, why don't we focus on addressing Xfburn's
inadequacies in the environments where users are observing
failures. It would make sense for those users who are
experiencing failures to file bug reports (if they have not done
so already) and approach the developers directly.
Personally, I have never had an issue with Xfburn but I use a
portable USB drive which may be avoiding errors that only occur in
an IDE or SATA optical drive environment.
Xfburn currently only burns

CD-R's seem to disappear from

So: perhaps it's a good idea to
drop Xfburn in Xubuntu 14.04?
Xfburn has been one of the most reliable free burning
software I have ever used, certainly over Brasero,
about on par with K3b.

I would also support shipping it with 14.04.
Hello all,

I just burned three DVD-Rs with no issues all the way up to the size
limit of the disk on a SATA DVD burner and played them back, and the
md5 hashes matched. I would be totally willing to investigate this
further along with someone that can reproduce a failure for me.
