Although Charlie is not a developer, his work shepherding Xubuntu's bugs and helping out in #xubuntu has given Charlie a unique perspective and understanding of the weaknesses in our product as well as a more than just basic understanding of the technical details behind them. I also believe Charlie has demonstrated a high level of organization, patience, thoughtfulness, dedication and good interpersonal relations - all traits desirable in a project leader. Traditionally the Xubuntu project lead has been a developer.
