Anyway, I think if Gstreamer is already pulled in and also has the codecs installation dialog, it is the preferred choice. But then again, I never play DVD's, so I'm a bit biased and I don't know exactly what's wrong with playing DVD's with Gstreamer. I do use vlc and it works perfectly. How many people honestly use Totem for their regular video watching? I don't know anyone that uses it. Everyone inevitably installs VLC and/or MPlayer, especially if they're using Xfce. Obviously those can't be included by default, but why switch gxine out for Totem? I fail to see how Totem is better to use. It's hardly any more user-friendly than gxine.
