Hello All,

With the Tribe-1 release of Xubuntu Gutsy Gibbon set for tomorrow, we are looking for a few ISO testers to test the images. I've noticed that we've gathered a few more testers in the Xubuntu Testing team, so that is great news.

If you are interested in testing the images for the alpha release, the download images are available here:

Live CD: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/daily-live/current/

Alternate Install CD: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/daily/current/

We are not assigning anyone to specific test cases for the Tribe 1 alpha release. Please just test on your available hardware, but if you have access to an AMD-64 computer, it would be great if you could test either of the AMD-64 images. As a note, testing inside a virtual machine is acceptable, but testing on actual hardware is preferred.

An email from an ubuntu developer is attached below this message, and provides information on how to report your test results, and what to do if you encounter bugs. I've also provides a link to the list of bugs being targeted for this milestone release, so please add a comment to those bug reports if you still encounter those problems.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+milestone/tribe-1

Of course, if you experience other bugs, we would like to know about those to, so please file bug reports in launchpad if you experience any other problems.

If you are unsure what to do, or how to test, please view the testing wiki page ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/Community ), ask a question in #ubuntu-iso on the Freenode IRC network, or send a reply to the mailing list. Thank you for your help!

Hello developers,

Tribe-1 is coming into shape and we have a set of reasonably
good-looking CD images now. Now we need some widespread testing!

Please sign up for an account on

testing the images.

In particular, alternate CDs for all derivatives, and desktop CDs for
all but Edubuntu. The current one is a tad oversized and thus will be
rebuilt shortly. If that finished, the Edubuntu desktop tests will be
re-enabled in the tracker.

Please make sure to mention serious bugs in the ISO test tracker. If
you are in doubt whether or not a bug should be a blocker, please err
on the safe side and mark it as serious. The release team will
regularly review the bugs and downgrade them if appropriate. Likewise,
we will update the tasks and milestones of bugs mentioned in the ISO
tracker.

Thank you,

Martin

--
Martin Pitt
