<br>Xubuntu won't use gnome-power-manager for the same reason it won't use gnome-screensaver:<br>they are IMHO needlessly made dependent on all gnome libs (via libgnomeui for session handling<br>and other small details) and gconf while being apps that should be desktop neutral.
