Default apps discussion

Roland,
Isnt LibreOffice more compatible with M$Word than OpenOffice?
Anyhow its probly too big to put on the Xubuntu Install Disk.
Is there a way to put links to recommended programs on the Xubuntu installation?
Or a link to a page on the Xubuntu website or wiki?
There are thousands in the Software Centre, which is confusing.
