The answer to your question about the branches is that you probably need 
to push to lp:~lpuser/xubuntu-docs/precise-branchname and manually set 
the target branch as lp:xubuntu-docs/precise, which is what you 
correctly did now. I believe this is because the precise branch isn't 
the development focus.

I'll review the merge proposal itself in a while.
