And one of course needs to look into the whole depenency tree
and see which of them aren't yet in the distro (or would go
away e.g. Thunar would go because there's nothing else
depending on it)...

For example libfm-gtk3:
	http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/libfm-gtk3

Brings in also LXDE libmenu stuff and libfm-data.

All in all, the new deps would bring in about ~1MB of extra stuff
according to packages install size.  Patching PCMmanFM to use XFCE
freedestop Menu specification would probably get rid some of them.


As to Thunar (first) startup speed, is that due to networking
support related waits, or due to CPU consumption?
