For a year, Xubuntu Project has been operating with interim Project
Leads. To rectify this situation, I would like to ask for nominations
for Xubuntu Project Lead. These nominations may be submitted by an
individual nominating themselves or someone else. Please submit
all nominations to the Ubuntu community council, so that an election
may be held. The period of nomination is to be open until 2010-12-15,
which allows at least two weeks for nominations. 

The responsibilities and duties of the project lead are outlined in the
Xubuntu Strategy Document, which is available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Xubuntu/StrategyDocument . 

The relevant team for this election will be the Xubuntu Team on
launchpad (https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-team). As an alternative, I
would suggest the leader be voted on during a Xubuntu community meeting,
being held every Thursday at 19:00. This would allow voting by all
those involved or interested in the community. 

It is recommended that nominees add relevant information for the
election to their personal wiki pages (eg: activities in the relevant
team and specific interests today, thoughts about the most important
challenges of the team in the next year, what you'd like to see change
in the team, work to focus on as the project leader).
