I will agree that a user that signed up for the mailing
list should know.
However, there is no harm in having 

If you ever want to unsubscribe or change your options (eg,
switch to or from digest mode, change your password, etc.),
visit your subscription page at:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/options/xubuntu-devel 

at the bottom of each email (with the -user for the user
list) and this would satisfy anti-spam legislation
