Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunar

Put a couple of shortcuts to local directories in the Shortcuts pane.
Rapidly jump from one to another with the mouse until something bad
happens. Probably works best with large directories like /usr/bin.
Basically Thunar can't keep up with user actions.
