Why are there 2 printer daemons running by default?

I think this sets up laptops

It's a inter-process communication service, practically essential for
applications like Terminal or Thunar, that don't really start separate
copies of itself per window, just send a message through the dbus and
then the "main" process just spawns new window. A lot more uses too.

Older computers need apmd, I think that only one of them starts in the
end (both are tried).
