Much thanks! As a tip to the next person, DEFINITELY make the backup copy of the xorg.conf! ;-) More became adjusted than I wanted.

In the end, edited the refresh lines by hand. In the link provided, see the "How to edit or add HorizSync and VertRefresh lines" section for details.
