Live cd / alt cd in Xubuntu

There's not enough place on a CD to ship both liveCD and text installer.
And DVD readers/burners are usually not present on older hardware (I 
don't have one on my test machine), so I'm not in favour of shipping 
Xubuntu on a DVD.
