2.6.18 kernel werkt niet met acpi van via epia en12000

And how does one create a custom build kernel for ubuntu then?
I have seen enough topics on the ubuntu forum were the kernel being
compiled. :-D
I use this command:
make-kpkg clean && sudo make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image kernel_headers
