...Except for the fact that vlc would then have to be "neutered" by
default, since ffmpeg and libmad (mp3) are in universe, and the assorted
codecs like m4a/aac are in multiverse [0]. While the deliberate
inclusion of said media support is nice, we still have technical (build
dependency of a main package depending on libs in universe) and possible
legal gotchas.
[0] The only reason they're enabled by default anyway is because their
sources are distributed as part of vlc's. It's quite nasty and something
the MOTUMedia team will attempt to finish correcting for Edgy.
