OpenOffice is too big and too resource-hungry for Xubuntu. Xubuntu prefers
smaller, faster applications like AbiWord for Wordprocessing and Gnumeric
for Spreasheets.

Installing OpenOffice is very easy with Synaptic, though, should you need
it.
