The gradients make the logo seem a bit restless and unnatural to me.
Might be the way they seem to clash with the stroke color in places.
Another thing that bothers me is the way all the different parts of the
logo seem to be lighted from different directions. I have to say I'd
prefer the smooth logo colors from the old login screen over these. I
have nothing against losing the text though.

Just an opinion, which is what I presume you were looking for.
