I am using xfce 4.3 from svn too and indeed is very nice.

Is it possible to split that package in xfdesktop and xfce4-menu ?


I think you can use one without the other so no need to split the package
itself

still no desktop icons, and i need them for my project ... here an app

looks good.  thunar is supposed to provide desktop icons but I  am not sure
if in time for
dapper.

there is then pyxfce ... that i would try to pkge ... what should i do

the best way to help out with packaging is to contact the debian-xfce team

we try to have common packages for debian and ubuntu and the 4.3 svn stuff
is not packaged yet,
on my todo list for a while, but not at the top :)

I am looking at various ubuntu/gnome bits and how they could be integrated :
update-manager,
power-manager etc.

BTW how is the volume manager going? Can you describe it compared to ivman
and why would it be better for us?
