i feel it can be more an xfce4-session issue then the xinitrc itself.
the problem is that all the apps you launch within the xinitrc don't
depend on the script. I mean ... they are not subprocesses, if you
launch let's say xfce4-panel, when you logout it's killed ... but not
because xfce4-session has been terminated but because the panel can't
exist without it.
