Hello,
I have installed xubuntu edgy on my via epia en12000, because the
default installation cd comes with a kernel that will not boot I was
forced to do it a alternative way. But I now have a few problems.
When I start xubuntu I get this warning and I don't know how to fix it:
Message Box: "Could not lookup internet address for xubuntu. This will
prevent Xfce from operating correctly it may be possible to correct the
problem by adding xubuntu to the file /etc/host on your system"
(I attached my /etc/host file)
This is what I did:
I made a new 5GB EXT3 partition.
Installed xubuntu dabber server on it.
changed the repos to edgy and update
did a sudo apt-get disc-upgrade
compiled a new kernel and kernel headers.
booted to edgy
installed xubuntu-desktop
sudp apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
now have xubuntu edgy with my booting kernel
